Outdoor shoot with Dominik – summer 2024
The outdoor photo shoot with Dominik in the hot summer of 2024 was an inspiring experience. The temperatures were extremely high, but fortunately the chosen location offered us plenty of shade, so we created a pleasant atmosphere in the heat. Dominik, dressed in his distinctive red baseball cap and with impressive tattoos, radiated a cool, relaxed energy that made the shoot incredibly authentic.
His calm expression and thoughtful pose in the picture showed a different, profound side of him that we really wanted to capture. Despite the heat and intense light, he worked with full concentration and patience, which made the collaboration enjoyable and professional. The location, a mixture of urban architecture and natural elements, offered numerous opportunities to play with light and shadow. What was particularly impressive was how the light softly illuminated Dominik’s face and tattoos, highlighting the details of his personality.
The end result shows a self-confident, strong man who at the same time exudes a certain calmness. It was a challenging but also very rewarding shoot, which was a complete success thanks to Dominik’s relaxed manner and the well-chosen backdrop.
a little bit backstage 🙂
Backstage at the outdoor photo shoot with Dominik
In addition to the staged moments of the actual shoot, it was particularly exciting to take the backstage photos that captured the whole process so vividly. While Dominik leaned against the rough metal walls, I kept changing my perspective to capture the small, spontaneous moments between poses. These “raw” moments are often the most authentic and convey the atmosphere of the day so wonderfully.
The backstage photos tell the story behind the scenes – how we worked together, laughed and tried out different ideas. For example, in some of the pictures you can see me, camera in hand, trying to find the perfect angle while Dominik waits patiently, smiling or thinking about how to create the next pose. It’s these shots that give you an intimate look at how much fun we had and how relaxed the atmosphere was.
The surroundings themselves also play a role in the backstage photos. You can see how we used the rusted container walls, the concrete floor and the natural light to create an urban, raw aesthetic. These images not only show Dominik as the subject, but also us as a team and the creative process that led to the final photos.
What makes these backstage pictures so special is that they show the “invisible” side of the shoot – the anticipation, the collaboration, the search for the perfect picture. They are a lasting reminder that photography is not just about the end result, but about the journey there and the stories that are created along the way. It’s always nice to see these “other” moments from the outside and to know that they are just as valuable as the finished photos themselves.
